£99m down the drain: Ten Hag’s 5ft 10 “weak link” has rinsed Man United for 111 weeks – opinion

Jadon Sancho and Erik Ten Hag

Current Manchester United player Jadon Sancho has drained around £100m from the club since last November.

Man Utd lost their last game 3-1 to Arsenal leading to much chaos regarding Sancho just before the international break.

The Red Devils have spent much behind Sancho

Manchester United signed Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021 when their manager was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Englishman was once considered to be one of the top talents present in Europe.

At Dortmund, he scored 50 goals and 64 assists across 137 games for the club including a German Cup trophy.

When the youngster arrived at Old Trafford, the pressure was high and so were the expectations.

The winger was signed for £73m which exerted a lot of pressure on the 21-year-old.

At present, the player has been at the club for 111 weeks and has earned a total of £26m in wages.

If his performance is to be considered, all the capital invested in him has just been a waste of money.

The player is given £250k per week but is he worth that much?

Sancho failed to start for the Red Devils this season and was also linked with a Saudi move.

The English winger has rinsed the club brilliantly since last summer with him contributing hardly for the club.

Sancho should leave Manchester United

Manchester United were offered a huge amount of money for a transfer offer for Sancho from the Saudi.

Sancho also has been complaining about his playtime at the club for a long time and last week also he had an outburst on X (Twitter).

The Englishman complained about the lies told by his manager Erik Ten Hag and that he has been working hard in the training ground, mentioning he has become a “scapegoat”.

Manchester United have been facing some issues with their financials recently and the club might be sold too.

Selling Sancho for big money might solve many problems for the club.

Erik Ten Hag has also had some problems regarding the winger and currently, Sancho is looking to regain support from his teammates.

Sancho’s situation at the club may bring some rift between the players and the managers. It is better for Sancho to leave the club and stop draining Manchester United’s money.
