Amrabat embarrasses Scott McTominay with his first start at Manchester United

Amrabat and Scott McTominay

The newly signed Manchester United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat embarrassed Scott McTominay in his first start for the club.

Amrabat made his first start at Old Trafford against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.

Amrabat better than Scott McTominay

Sofyan Amrabat had a very good start against Crystal Palace which was enough to embarrass Scott McTominay.

The Moroccan midfielder was shining on the field and only 61 minutes were enough for him to showcase his skills.

He played both in the midfield and as a left-back representing his willingness to play at any position.

Ten Hag subbed off Amrabat after 61 minutes keeping his physical fitness in mind.

The World Cup semi-finalist outclassed McTominay and what he has done this season.

Scott McTominay has played a total of 203 minutes this season and managed to have 90 touches and 49 completed passes.

These stats are shambolic for a player who started against Burnley and Brighton and featured as a substitute against Bayern Munich, Wolves, and Nottingham Forest.

Whereas Amrabat played 61 minutes in total against Crystal Palace and managed to have 92 touches and completed 78 passes.

Ten Hag finally got what he needed

Ten Hag and Manchester United have had a very bad start to their season and injuries worsened the situation.

Amrabat’s amazing performance has given Ten Hag a sigh of relief as it seems the Red Devils are back on track.

“Sofyan is a player who, where the team needs him he will play,

It’s one of the reasons we signed him. Every player has his best position, but he gives a certain dynamic in the game.

We just started, and the process was a little bit interrupted by the many injuries we had. You see with Mason [Mount], Amrabat — they can contribute to the game and they will do.”

Ten Hag said in the post-match conference after defeating Crystal Palace 3-0

Amrabat returned to the team after a long time which was due to his injury.

Manchester United have finally found a flexible player which they have been looking for all this transfer.

The Red Devils look fresh and ready to have new beginnings in the season.
