Casemiro ‘thinks he made mistake in Man Utd move’ with club already lining up £61 million replacement

Casemiro at Manchester United

The Red Devils saw many major potential signings in the 22/23 Premier League Season. Some big names that came up in that year were Christian Eriksen, Antony, Marcel Sabitzer, and the big Brazilian midfielder Casemiro.

The Real Madrid star joined Manchester United for a record 70 million pounds, winning 3 La Liga Titles and 5 UEFA Champions League Titles with the Spanish giants.

He was signed at the same time when Spurs midfield sensation Christian Eriksen was signed for them.

The midfielder had a decent season for Manchester United in the 22/23 term. Scoring a decent amount of goals in every competition at crucial stages for the club.

But the next season had different plans for him. After a relatively impressive first season at Old Trafford, Casemiro has endured a difficult start to his second campaign in England.

According to a recent story, Casemiro believes his decision to join Manchester United was a mistake.

Indeed, having been sent off during United’s Champions League loss to Galatasaray, the former Real Madrid star was hooked at half-time against Brentford ahead of the international break.

Brazilian matches offered little solace either; the 31-year-old had to be replaced after suffering an injury in their 1-1 draw with Venezuela before coming back to face Uruguay a few days later, where the five-time World Cup champions lost 2-0.

The Red Devils unhappy with Casemiro

According to Nacional, United are not happy with Casemiro’s performances, while the midfielder is ‘regretting’ the decision he made to move to Old Trafford a year ago.

Moreover, he feels like he doesn’t have enough silverware to his name as he used to have in Real Madrid.

The only thing he has won with the Manchester club is the Carabao Cup. Adding to that he had more dark clouds above his head.

According to the Sportbible, the Red Devils already have a replacement in their bags for Casemiro – Benfica’s Joao Neves.

The Catalan media outlet claims United are interested in signing Neves but will have to agree a fee of at least £61 million to secure his signature.

The Midfield Maestro’s future still remains uncertain at the Club. His staying or leaving will be assessed upon his future performances, his interpersonal relations with the manager and other players, and how well he gels with the team’s chemistry.
