Eric Ten Hag must address Man United’s goalkeeping situation after De Gea’s departure, with Onana as a potential replacement.

Ten Hag faces significant decisions regarding the goalkeeping department at Manchester United this summer following David de Gea’s announcement of his departure from the club after an impressive 12-year tenure.

As a result, the United manager has identified Inter Milan’s Andre Onana as a suitable replacement, and negotiations are underway for a transfer fee of £43 million, potentially rising with add-ons, pending the agreement of personal terms.

Dean Henderson Reluctant to Play Second Fiddle to Onana for Eric Ten Hag

Should the deal with Onana fail to materialize, United can turn to their homegrown talent, Dean Henderson, who has been with the club since 2011.

However, recent reports suggest that the 26-year-old is reluctant to play second fiddle to Onana and has communicated this stance to Ten Hag.

Despite his reservations, Henderson has rejoined training at Carrington after spending the previous season on loan at Nottingham Forest.

The Desire for Regular Playing Time & Spurs Transfer Speculation

Sources indicate that Henderson’s desire for regular playing time has led him to prefer a permanent move away from Old Trafford.

The Daily Mail suggests that a potential destination could be Nottingham Forest, with a transfer fee of up to £20 million being reported by The Athletic.

Ten Hag and the United hierarchy are undoubtedly facing a challenging task in managing their goalkeeping department.

While Onana remains the primary target, Henderson’s aspirations for first-team football cannot be disregarded.

The club will likely seek an amicable resolution that satisfies all parties involved.

Manchester United’s summer transfer activities have already seen the acquisition of Mason Mount from Chelsea in a significant £65 million deal.

This signals the club’s intent to strengthen their squad as they prepare for the upcoming season.

United supporters eagerly await further developments in the goalkeeping situation, hoping for a solution that ensures the team’s success while respecting the desires and abilities of both Henderson and Onana.
