Erik ten Hag confirms two Man Utd stars could leave after Tottenham loss

Donny Van de Beek and Brandon Williams not in Erik Ten Hag plans

After a loss to Tottenham Hotspur away from home, Erik Ten Hag has declared that Donny Van de Beek and Brandon Williams could exit the club this summer.

During the post-match interview after their loss to Spurs, the Dutch manager was presented with a bouquet of questions.

Erik Ten Hag on absence of Maguire

“Yesterday, the final training, ‘H’ fell out with a small issue and after September 1 everything can change, but we need players who are totally with their heads in our team,”

Players looking for opportunities

The Man United boss also confirmed that Donny and Williams are looking for opportunities in other clubs.

“And, I wouldn’t say the players you just mentioned, they are not, but it’s also obvious in this moment they are looking for something else.”

He also claimed that he was pleased with the performances of Donny and Brandon Williams.

“But when they are here, they always do their best and they do every training, Brandon, Donny, I am pleased with their performance and also pleased with their performance in pre-season, Brandon, Donny, and some more did a very good pre-season.”

Ten Hag does not have Donny and Williams in his future plans

Donny has been complaining about the lack of playtime for a long time at Manchester United. He arrived with a lot of hope from Ajax but was disappointed.

After a loan season at Everton during the 2021-22 season, the talented player proved himself there. Despite doing so he was not a regular part of the first team. Reports are now suggesting that he wants to leave the club this summer too.

With a total of 60 appearances and 2 goals for a player who joined the Red Devils in 2020, the stats do not match the standard of someone who was considered one of the best talents in Europe.

The Red Devils consist of many huge names in their attacking midfield like Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen, and many more. This means that Donny’s chances to be a part of the first team look slim.

The Dutch prospect’s exit could help both him and Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Brandon Williams has reported that he is unhappy with Ten Hag if he wants to play him as a bit-part player.

The 20-time English Champions are looking for full-back options this summer and this would make Brandon their fifth choice for the full-back position.

Both Brandon Williams and Donny Van de Beek are talented players who want to play regularly but what Ten Hag is planning, is against their will. Thus, their departure looks imminent.
