Man United considering Scott McTominay as part of a deal for Moises Caicedo

Man United seeks defensive midfielder, Moises Caicedo from Brighton becomes a potential target after some departures from Old Trafford.

Man United are actively pursuing the signing of a defensive-minded central midfielder Moises Caicedo to complement their creative players on the pitch. 

After the departures of Pogba and Nemanja, the club is looking for a player who can provide defensive stability.

Caicedo, a 21-year-old Ecuadorian international, joined Brighton in 2021 and has since established himself as a regular in their squad. With his impressive performances, he has caught the attention of Manchester United. 

However, his services won’t come cheap as Brighton have set an asking price of £80 million for the talented midfielder.

Manchester City also has a robust midfield setup and are unlikely to pursue the Ecuadorian. While Arsenal already have Declan Rice and the Premier League runners-up won’t require any more recruitments in that area.

With Chelsea losing midfielders Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante, they could be potential contenders for Caicedo’s signature. 

However, if Manchester United officially makes a bid, they are expected to be in a favorable position to secure the player.

The ultimate decision lies with McTominay, as he would need to approve his departure from Old Trafford to join Brighton as part of the deal.

As the transfer saga unfolds, Manchester United continues searching for a defensive-minded midfielder to enhance their squad.
