Man United on the verge of signing €105m pair Moussa Diaby and Jeremie Frimpong

Moussa Diaby and Jeremie Frimpong to Man United

Reports suggest that Man United are looking forward to signing Moussa Diaby and Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth €105 million.

The potential signings come after Erik ten Hag’s successful debut year as manager. Where he helped the team secure the Carabao Cup and Champions League qualification.

Ten Hag is eager to see Man United progress further next season. He believes new signings are necessary for that to happen.

While the priority is to acquire one or two strikers, with Harry Kane from Tottenham and Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta on their radar. The club also aims to strengthen other areas.

How can Moussa Diaby and Jeremie Frimpong impact Man United?

Recent reports suggest, Ten Hag is looking for an upgrade on Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Frimpong, valued at €50 million looks to be a perfect replacement.

Furthermore, United have joined the race to sign Moussa Diaby, who has also attracted interest from Arsenal and Newcastle.

Diaby’s impressive performance in the Bundesliga contributed to 17 goals in 33 appearances during the 2022/23 season. He could potentially fill the void left by Jadon Sancho, who could leave this summer and is a target for Tottenham Hotspur.

If the 20-time English champions completes Diaby’s move, he will face pressure for Sancho’s struggle to live up to his £73m price tag.

The England international has only been involved in 18 goals in his 79 appearances for United across all competitions and Ally McCoist thinks he should return to Borussia Dortmund.

“Back to Dortmund, aye, I just feel for the lad because it’s a move that hasn’t really worked out has it? I don’t think anyone can doubt there’s a real talent there but I go back to that period last season where he was having problems where Ten Hag sent him away,”

McCoist told talkSPORT.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Man United are close to finalizing the signings of Frimpong and Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen.

Ten Hag has expressed specific interest in these players, and the negotiations with the German club are progressing positively.

Additionally, German outlet Kicker, cited by Fichajes, reports that Leverkusen has given the green light for both players to leave. Granting United the opportunity to secure these important signings.
