Man United Open to Extraordinary Measures for Militao as Potential Surprise Departure

Eder Militao to Man United

Man United are keen on Real Madrid’s Militao as they search for a new centre-back.

According to recent reports, Manchester United have expressed interest in securing the services of Eder Militao, a talented defender from Real Madrid, during the ongoing summer transfer window.

The Red Devils are actively seeking a new center-back, as the future of their current player, Harry Maguire, remains uncertain.

Previous sources from Germany suggested that Victor Lindelof’s potential departure from the club has been dismissed, as the Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, intends to prevent his exit.

Center-back Pairing Preference, Maguire’s Uncertain Future

When fully fit, ten Hag has favored a center-back pairing consisting of Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane, with Luke Shaw occasionally being chosen over Maguire in the previous season.

While there have been rumours of Maguire’s imminent departure, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano explains that the situation is more complex than initially assumed.

Spanish newspaper Nacional further asserts that Man United are preparing a move for Eder Militao, who not only excels as a center-back but can also operate as a right-back.

Man United determined to secure the Militao deal

It is believed that the Red Devils are prepared to go to great lengths to secure Militao’s services, displaying an unsurprising interest in the Brazilian defender due to his exceptional performance, which has garnered him recognition as one of the finest defenders in global football.

Although reports suggest that Man United possesses substantial funds at their disposal, it should be noted that their budget is relatively modest, standing at approximately £120 million, contrary to the notion of having an abundance of financial resources.

Realistically, Manchester United may face financial constraints in pursuing this transfer unless they generate substantial revenue through player sales.

However, another Spanish outlet, Cope, suggests the possibility of a significant departure from Real Madrid this summer, without specifying any specific players.

Furthermore, Manchester United appears to be making progress in securing the services of Andre Onana, a goalkeeper from Inter Milan.

Despite having two offers previously rejected, the Premier League club remains optimistic about reaching an agreement with Onana, according to Ben Jacobs.
