Man United target striker Joshua Zirkzee

Man Utd are aiming to secure a deal for a Serie A striker, considered better than Erling Haaland, at a cost-effective price.

Man Utd Pursuit Blocked as Bologna Refuses to Sell Star Striker

Bologna is standing firm on their decision not to sell the Premier League-linked striker Joshua Zirkzee in January, seemingly blocking Man Utd’s chances of a potential £35 million deal.

Despite a surge in speculation about the future of the one-time Bayern Munich starlet, Fabrizio Romano asserts that Zirkzee’s future remains unchanged.

Regardless of the interest from multiple clubs or his on-field contributions in a red-and-blue shirt, Zirkzee is not set to move this month.

The £35 million-rated Dutch striker remains a key part of Bologna’s plans, putting a halt to Man Utd’s pursuit.

Serie A Sensation Drawing Man Utd Interest

Joshua Zirkzee, an elegant and silky centre-forward, is often likened to football greats like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and considered ‘better’ than Erling Haaland by some.

Combining the physique of Rasmus Hojlund with the touch of Dimitar Berbatov, Zirkzee has restored his reputation with standout Serie A performances after falling out of favour at Bayern Munich.

Despite interest from Manchester United, Zirkzee is under contract for another two years, and Bologna, where he currently plays, faces no immediate pressure to sell the talented striker.

Manchester United Faces Financial Constraints

Bologna are firm in their stance that Joshua Zirkzee will not leave in January, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

Despite a buy-back clause in Zirkzee’s contract with former club Bayern Munich, no decision will be made regarding a potential return to the Allianz Arena until June.

This holds true for Manchester United as well, given their financial constraints and focus on bargain buys and short-term loans due to Financial Fair Play concerns.

The temporary exits of Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek have done little to free up funds for substantial acquisitions, leaving United with limited options in the transfer market.
