Man Utd and Liverpool lock horns over rising Barcelona star

The Premier League never misses a chance to hunt for the next big thing, and this time the spotlight has swung toward Spain. Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly battling it out for Barcelona teenager Pedro “Dro” Fernández, a 17-year-old playmaker tipped to be the latest gem from La Masia.

The youngster has already caught the eye with his clever passing and calm presence in midfield.

He even found the net in a pre-season win against Vissel Kobe, a reminder that he isn’t shy about making his mark.

With Barcelona placing him on the bench in their opening league games, his first senior appearance seems only a matter of time. For now, though, the noise around his future grows louder by the day.

Reports from Spain (via  Fichajes) suggest United view Dro as a possible long-term heir to Bruno Fernandes, while Liverpool see him as a talent who could fit their rebuild plans.

Manchester City and Chelsea are also keeping tabs, turning this chase into a four-way Premier League derby of its own.

Fernández has been praised for his vision and versatility. His ability to slip into different attacking roles makes him even more appealing for clubs looking at the bigger picture.

La Masia graduates usually come polished, and scouts believe this one could shine even brighter with time.

But Barcelona still hold the cards. Dro’s contract runs until 2027, and any move would need serious persuasion — and serious money.

Staying in Catalonia for his development is still an option, and that may be the biggest obstacle for those hoping to lure him away.

The transfer window may still be months away, but this battle already feels like extra time with plenty of twists to come. Whether Dro stays in Barcelona or heads to England, his next step could define the next decade of his career.
