Man Utd to make another successive transfer from La Liga?

Antoine Griezmann to Manchester United

Griezmann is available in the market this window and Man Utd are solidly considering the French playmaker. After bagging the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Varane, and Casemiro from La Liga, will Griezmann be the next success?

The Red Devils are said to be one of many elite European teams interested in bringing in the 32-year-old forward away from Atletico Madrid before next season, according to reports in Spain last week.

Other teams with an interest in the playmaker include Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan.

The release clause of Griezmann makes him more appealing for Man Utd

The rumor is that the former Barcelona player’s current contract with the La Liga team has a release clause of around €25 million (£21 million), which means that the Old Trafford team may be able to get the 121-cap virtuoso on the cheap in their desire to strengthen their attacking lines.

It’s not the first time recently that United have been interested in recruiting the former Real Sociedad player; Sky Sports journalist Melissa Reddy claims that Erik ten Hag and company inquired about the possibility of signing the World Cup-winning Frenchman last summer.

Ten Hag is eager to bolster his attack line and midfield ranks in the upcoming months. Therefore, the Dutchman may potentially accomplish two goals by signing the versatile wonder.

Is it a good move?

The £206k-per-week asset may transfer from the Spanish city to the Theatre of Dreams, following in the footsteps of his fellow countryman Varane and summer recruit Casemiro from the previous year. It is hoped that Griezmann will be as successful as Casemiro in particular.

According to former United player Diego Forlan, Griezmann was arguably his country’s “key player” after playing a surprise deep-lying midfield position at the World Cup in Qatar.

Griezmann continued to have an impact on Diego Simeone’s team while playing behind the striker for the majority of the 2022–23 season.

That being said, his style of play will surely add value to Ten Hag’s side. However, the first few matches will reflect how good he will be for the squad.
