Kylian Mbappe to Manchester United

Manchester United contemplating a big move for PSG star forward Kylian Mbappe if Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani completes the club’s takeover.

Sheikh Jassim is said to be in pole position to purchase Manchester United from the Glazers, potentially beating Sir Jim Ratcliffe to the deal.

It is expected that a preferred bidder for the club will be named soon, and Sheikh Jassim’s latest offer has put him at the top of the list.

According to El Pais, if the takeover happens, the chairman of Qatar Investment Bank is planning to make an attempt to bring Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain to Old Trafford.

Mbappe to Man United: A Possibility?

As Sheikh Jassim has privately expressed his desire to make Mbappe his primary target in his first transfer window as the club’s owner.

Mbappe is said to be aware that the opportunity to move to Manchester United in the current market could be a possibility.

Recently, Mbappe informed PSG’s owners that he will not be taking up the option of a one-year contract extension next summer.

As a result, his current deal with PSG will expire in June next year, and the club is reportedly planning to sell him this summer if he does not agree to a new contract.

However, Mbappe has ruled out a summer move away from PSG, the club is unwilling to let him leave on a free transfer next year due to his high valuation.

Real Madrid have been heavily linked with the player, but it remains to be seen if they can commit to another big-money deal this summer, considering their recent signing of Jude Bellingham.

The Red Devils are one of the few clubs capable of affording Mbappe, and Sheikh Jassim is reportedly ready to provide substantial funds to the head coach Erik ten Hag if the takeover is successful.

Mbappe has been with PSG since 2017, initially on loan from Monaco. He enjoyed his 260 appearances for the club, scoring 212 goals and providing 98 assists.

While PSG gained success domestically, Mbappe’s desire to win the Champions League remains unfulfilled, and the club will undergo significant changes this summer, including the departure of Lionel Messi on a free transfer.
