Manchester United are in talks with Rasmus Hojlund for a new number nine position after prior unsuccessful attempts.

The club had prioritized this position for the summer transfer window, but their efforts had yielded little success until now. 

While Harry Kane was initially their top target, it seems increasingly unlikely that he will be available, as neither the player nor Daniel Levy, the chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, are willing to entertain a deal with a Premier League rival.

Talks with Rasmus Hojlund as Manager Erik ten Hag Expresses Player Interest

TalkSPORT has confirmed that discussions have already occurred regarding an initial fee, with Manchester United aiming to finalize the deal this summer.

Manager Erik ten Hag has reportedly contacted Hojlund multiple times through video calls. 

In a separate interview, Ten Hag expressed how eager the players is about joining Manchester United this summer, in contrast to the previous year.

Hojlund had a breakthrough season after joining Atalanta from Sturm Gaz last summer. 

However, with the physical attributes of a classic number nine combined with the athleticism and agility of a modern forward, the Danish striker has drawn comparisons to Erling Haaland.

Although he scored only ten goals in all competitions for Atalanta last season, his impressive tally of six in four international games offers a glimpse into his future potential.
