Manchester United in Talks for £25m Forward, but Director Casts Doubt on Red Devils’ Capture

Timo Werner to Manchester United in this January transfer window

In the upcoming transfer window, Manchester United are in talks with ex-Chelsea striker Timo Werner. However, RB Leipzig’s sporting director, Rouven Schroder, has doubts about Werner moving to the Premier League.

Despite scoring only 18 goals in 17 Premier League games this season, the Red Devils are actively working to improve. However, the fan base is feeling disappointed with Manchester United’s performances.

Manchester United’s Ongoing Pursuit in the Transfer Window for Striking Power

In the January transfer window, Manchester United are targeting three forwards. According to Fabrizio Romano, they’re keen on Timo Werner, Donyell Malen, and Serhou Guirassy, looking to add them to the team.

The Red Devils are concerned about their team’s performance in the final third this season. Already, conversations have started with the agents representing these players. RB Leipzig’s sporting director, Rouven Schröder, has told BLID,

“I assume that he will play the second half of the season with us. We know what he’s capable of, he has to get it back on the pitch.

We’ll see about the rest, soccer is a day-to-day business.”

The ex-Chelsea striker is now on the bench. This is because another striker, Lois Openda, linked with the Red Devils, is in outstanding form.

Werner’s situation at Leipzig

Leipzig coach Marco Rose is sure Werner will get chances in the Bundesliga. He can secure a starting spot. But, the ex-Dortmund coach says players must prove themselves or think about changing clubs.

Despite Timo Werner’s dedicated efforts in training, he finds himself in a challenging situation.

Bundesliga Forwards Catching Manchester United’s Eye

This season, Manchester United is keen on strengthening their team by looking for a strong attacker from the Bundesliga during the January transfer window.

Their top target is Guirassy, who had an impressive season with 19 goals and a £15 million release clause in his Stuttgart contract.

Talks about a swap deal with Malen for Jadon Sancho happened. Dortmund’s director, Sebastien Kehl, said no to this in January. The Red Devils are thinking hard about how to strengthen their team.
