Manchester United Legend Expresses Concerns about the New Danish Arrival

Rasmus Hojlund at Manchester United vs Arsenal

Manchester United suffered a tough loss to West Ham, with Rasmus Hojlund being substituted in the middle of the game as United trailed 2-0.

The Red Devils have gone four games without scoring a goal, creating a sense of disbelief around the Theatre of Dreams among the manager and fans.

Challenges for Hojlund at Manchester United this season

Rasmus Hojlund the 20-year-old Danish forward, joined Manchester United for around 72 million euros from Atalanta, Italy.

Unfortunately, he hasn’t scored in 14 Premier League games this season. Despite being a promising player, the Red Devils haven’t given him enough chances in the final third. As a result, the team hasn’t scored in four games straight this season.

Red Devils Legend Slam United’s Lackluster Attack

Former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes has slammed United’s attacking players after another lacklustre performance in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at West Ham.

United failed to score for a fourth consecutive game, allowing the Hammers to comfortably secure the win.

Alejandro Garnacho missed a golden chance in the first half, and Rasmus Hojlund was on the fringes of the match before being subbed out in the 54th minute.

Hojlund has now gone 14 Premier League matches without scoring for Manchester United while Garnacho and Antony have just one league goal this season.

The Reason Behind Hojlund’s mid-game Substitution

United manager Eric Ten Hag said he had to protect Hojlund as they get ready to play against Aston Villa on Boxing Day and Nottingham Forest on December 30.

Hojlund, who is 20 years old, scored five times for United this season, but all of those goals were in Champions League games they lost to Bayern Munich, Galatasaray, and Copenhagen.

He has a concerning statistic – an expected goal rate of 0.56 per 90 minutes this season. This is worrying for any forward, and it’s partly because United’s attack hasn’t been giving him many chances.

Hojlund was partly substituted during the West Ham match because he was unwell during the week.

He struggled in United’s 2-0 loss to West Ham and has now gone 14 games in the Premier League without scoring.
