Manchester United might have found the player they’ve waited three years for

Sergio Reguilon to Manchester United

Manchester United have found a gem in Sergio Reguilon as he continues to shine for the club.

After their 3-1 loss to Bayern Munich, the Red Devils have not received much positives from the game.

Left-back crisis during the transfer window

Manchester United spent the entire summer transfer window looking for a left-back and were met with dead-ends.

After injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, United were in huge trouble regarding their left-back options.

Even though Diogo Dalot had experience playing as a left-back, the club wanted to sign a player specialized to play as a left-back.

The 20-time Premier League Champions were close to signing Marc Cucurella on loan from Chelsea.

But Chelsea’s high loan demand and odd decision to field him in the Carabao Cup made the deal fall through.

Man United were also interested in signing Marcos Alonso from FC Barcelona but signed Sergio Reguilon on loan from Tottenham.

Reguilon proves his worth at Manchester United

Reguilon has performed incredibly since his debut for the Old Trafford residents.

After an impressive performance against Brighton, Reguilon kept consistency in his performance levels in the Champions League against Bayern Munich.

He managed to contain Leroy Sane who is lethal on the wing and also had an impact while attacking.

After conceding 7 goals in the two games Reguilon has started in, he has managed to impress with his impact and work-rate.

The Spurs man was bright going forward with regular overlaps on the left-hand side and was also defensively reliable too.

Ten Hag now needs to decide whether to bench Reguilon if he continues his incredible run when Luke Shaw or Malacia return or use Shaw as a backup.

United have finally found someone who is committed, competitive, and hungry to prove himself.

After a disappointing season at Tottenham Hotspur, the Spaniard returned to La Liga but managed to start only twice for Atletico Madrid.

Reguilon could have been playing for the Red Devils three years ago but the club went forward with Alex Telles who is now playing in the Saudi League.

Despite all the losses and setbacks, Reguilon is showcasing his class and is serious about playing for Manchester United.
