Manchester United winger nears return from knee injury after stepping up recovery

As we have seen the stars aren’t aligned for Manchester United but their winger Amad Diallo is on his path to regain fitness.

Amad Diallo, the winger for Manchester United, has been sidelined this season because of a knee injury and has not participated in any competitive matches. Now there’s some good news for the Red Devils as he is back to the field.

The Ivorian winger has posted a video on his Instagram stories to document his solo training sessions at Carrington while demonstrating his recovery progress.

Amad has previously shared footage of himself training at Carrington, but since his most recent injury, we haven’t seen him do any ball work. Until now.

Ten Hag’s thoughts on Amad Diallo

Reports via 90Mins claim that Erik ten Hag is eager to see the 21-year-old return soon, as he recently completed a successful loan stint at Sunderland, where he netted 14 goals.

The competition can’t get better or bigger than this for Amad Diallo as it’s the Premier League and he’ll get opportunities to prove himself as Antony’s presence on the right wing isn’t turning heads. 

Amad sustained a knee injury during a pre-season friendly against Arsenal in the summer, and he has been sidelined ever since.

Before his injury, the young player was a regular presence in Erik ten Hag’s pre-season lineup, but he has not made an appearance in a competitive match under the Dutch manager.

A change is on the horizon, and we have strong expectations that the former Atalanta prodigy will soon make his debut for the U21s before being introduced into first-team play.

Erik ten Hag maintains his intention to continue working with winger Amad Diallo throughout the summer, postponing any decisions regarding the player’s immediate future with the club.

Amad, who is now back at United, began the pre-season opener against Leeds and delivered an impressive 45-minute performance before substantial changes were made during half-time.

Following the match, Ten Hag stated that it was premature to make definitive assessments about Amad but acknowledged that some of the squad’s young talents had certainly grabbed his attention.
