Medical completed – Player all set to join Manchester United
After signing Andre Onana from Inter Milan, Manchester United are looking to sign Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.
To sign the goalkeeper from Fenerbahce, The Red Devils need to trigger the release clause of the goalkeeper which will cost €4.98 million.
Bayandir is a good goalkeeper for Manchester United
Bayindir played incredibly between the sticks for Fenerbahce and was a crucial part of the team. The Turkish player joined Fenerbahce in 2019.
He has appeared in a total of 146 games for the Turkish club which seems less. It is because Altay injured himself in a collision with Serdar Gurler and required surgery on his shoulder, forcing him out of action for three months in October 2021
Despite the injuries, the 6 ft 6′ goalkeeper has impressed since his return. Last season, he played 40 times for the club.
The Turkish goalkeeper has already proven himself to be an excellent shot-stopper and blocking penalties.
Bayandir had played a crucial role in Fenerbahce’s winning the Turkish Cup and reaching the Round of 16 in the Europa League, where Sevilla knocked them out.
The goalkeeper will cost Manchester United €7m which is slightly higher than the previous offer of €5m.
The Red Devils are in need of a goalkeeper
Manchester United have lost many players this transfer window including their star goalkeeper David de Gea. Dean Henderson is also looking for an exit too.
Both Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest have shown their interest in signing Henderson. After the arrival of Andre Onana, it is clear that he is nowhere to play as No. 1 for The Red Devil.
He is available on a loan-to-buy option which clearly shows that Manchester United doesn’t want him at the club.
Present Manchester United’s backup goalkeeper is Tom Heaton who suffered a calf injury during a training session before the Red Devil’s season opener match against Wolves.
With Dean Henderson leaving and Tom Heaton injured, Manchester United need a backup goalkeeper.
Medicals Completed
The goalkeeper was spotted in Athens after completing his medicals for Manchester United. He has returned to Istanbul.
The main concern with the player is his battle with his historical health problem. It’s a lumbar hernia issue that required surgery in April.
There can be many complications with the transfer but signing Bayindir will increase competition between the goalkeepers.
This makes Altay Bayindir the perfect goalkeeper for Manchester United to sign.
