Possible takeover of Manchester United football club by Sheikh Jassim

Rio Ferdinand on Man United takeover

Rio Ferdinand, the former Manchester United star, has expressed his belief that Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani has emerged victorious in the battle to acquire the club.

Manchester United will be takeover soon by Sheikh Jassim

Everything seems favourable for the Sheikh Jassim according to Ferdinand. Discussions are going positively between the Qatar Islamic Bank chairman and the Glazer family, who currently own the club.

Ferdinand claims that Sheikh Jassim has outpaced competing bidder Sir Jim Ratcliffe in the race to purchase Manchester United.

According to Ferdinand, a takeover appears imminent, as he shared the information on his Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE YouTube channel.

He added:

We’re hearing the Qatari bid is the one which will be accepted.

It is the one that is going to be accepted and it is the one that is going to go through”.

The Glazers have set their asking price at £6 billion. Sheikh Jassim presented his fifth and final offer last week.

The resolution of the ownership matter is of utmost importance for Manchester United. As it will determine the club’s direction going forward during the summer transfer window.

Red Devils boosting squad to challenge for silverware next season

Financial regulations that restrict expenditures to 90% of total income will limit the Red Devils’ spending. Therefore, encompasses transfers, wages, coaching, and agent fees can not take place to its full potential unless there is no takeover.

Manchester United spent over £200 million in the previous summer transfer window. So their financial statements released earlier this year indicated outstanding transfer fees exceeding £300 million.

Consequently, their budget for this summer hinges not only on the anticipated takeover but also on player sales.

However, supporters of the club eagerly await positive updates. Especially amid reports suggesting that a preferred bidder might be announced within the week.
