Manchester United’s pursuit of Aurelian Tchouameni from Real Madrid have received a significant boost, according to recent reports.
It is believed that the Spanish giants are prepared to “sacrifice” the talented midfielder in order to secure the signing of Kylian Mbappe.
This development follows Madrid’s recent acquisition of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
Real Madrid’s Midfield Depth and Attacking Limitations
Real Madrid currently boasts an abundance of options in central midfield, with Tchouameni and Bellingham contending with esteemed players such as Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Eduardo Camavinga, and Federico Valverde for a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting lineup.
In contrast, their attacking options are relatively limited, with the recent loan signing of former Stoke striker Joselu from Espanyol providing only him and returning forward Brahim Diaz as central role choices. Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo occupy the wide-forward positions.
Numerous clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool, have been linked with Tchouameni during this transfer window.
It is reported that Real Madrid cannot and Man United afford to compete financially with Liverpool to meet the required fee for Mbappe without making “significant sales.”
Considering their surplus of midfielders, it appears logical for Tchouameni to be made available for transfer.
Real Madrid Ready to Sell Tchouameni to Man United and Liverpool for Mbappe
Tchouameni was signed from Monaco for €80 million last summer, and it is rumoured that Real Madrid President Florentino Perez would be willing to part ways with the midfielder for a fixed fee of €60 million, with an additional €20 million in potential add-ons.
Both Manchester United and Liverpool would find this price enticing, as they are reportedly willing to integrate Tchouameni into their respective squads.
There is also speculation that Real Madrid would entertain offers for Federico Valverde as part of a potential double sale.
