Report: Manchester United closing in on £35 million transfer move

Jean-Clair Todibo to Manchester United

OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo has now been linked extensively with Manchester United.

The Red Devils have been eyeing Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard, who is now all set to join Inter Milan after the Serie A club agreed on a €32m package deal.

Man Utd have now diverted their attention towards Todibo.

Manchester United will be looking at a new defense with Todibo

The 20-time English Champions are looking forward to renewing their defense line. With players like Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire’s future uncertain, Ten Hag seems to be building a strong backline for the club.

The Red Devils failed to sign Kim Min-Jae from Napoli, and now the Red Devils are reportedly showing their interest in Todibo.

The French defender has played for clubs like Barcelona in 2019. Thereafter, he was sent on loans to clubs like Schalke, and Benfica landing him finally at OGC Nice where he signed a permanent deal in July 2021.

Todibo’s signing will lead him to play with the national team and World Cup winner companion Raphaël Varane. The chemistry between the 2 will boost Man Utd’s defense.

Is Todibo worth it?

OGC Nice are asking £35 million for the player which fits his caliber.

Todibo is an excellent player at the young age of 23. The Frenchman is very skilled on the ball and is an extremely progressive player who plays an important role in the first phase of the build-up to a goal.

The French defender is a fantastic tackler and has averaged 2.48 tackles per 90 in Ligue 1 this season.

He is also a good 1v1 defender and is comfortable defending as a wing-back.

In Ligue 1 last season, the Frenchman averaged 3.61 clearances per 90 and 1.34 blocks per 90 which is commendable.

Manchester United are now in turmoil with their players. They want Amrabat whose transfer is getting delayed due to insufficient funds.

If Todibo signs for the Red Devils, it will put them in a sticky situation since their players are hard to sell.

Looks like a new beginning for the Old Trafford residents

After a 2-0 loss against Spurs, Manchester United have been looking for new players to improve their team. The Red Devils have reconstructed their team in every manner possible.

They have new starting players like Mason Mount, Højlund who are vital for the team. Looking forward to their next match against Nottingham Forest, Man Utd will be looking to rectify the mistakes which they made against the North London side.

The Red Devils have an excellent manager in Ten Hag who is determined to reach the highest levels with the squad no matter what situation arises.
