Roberto De Zerbi admits United have a ‘problem’, Ten Hag surprised him

Roberto de Zerbi on Manchester United

Brighton Manager Roberto De Zerbi talked about Manchester United having a problem during the post-match interview.

Erik ten Hag’s side lost 3-1 to Roberto De Zerbi’s side on Saturday at Old Trafford. Brighton celebrated their fourth straight win against the Premier League giants.

De Zerbi on Manchester United’s issues

According to Roberto De Zerbi, there is an issue with Manchester United that he cannot identify.

“I don’t know the problems of Manchester United, but I can explain my team.”

He also admitted that United’s playstyle surprised the visitors as it was not the same as the one they prepared for.

‘We played a great, great game. We deserved to win, we played well. In the first 15, 20 minutes we suffered a lot because Man United played in a different way than we prepared for but after that we played a great game,’

Roberto De Zerbi told Sky Sports

“I think the game was changed when we kept the ball. In that moment their pressure was strong and to keep the ball helped us to control the game and then we have four attackers who are very fast and very good.

The conclusion drawn from the match is that Ten Hag was “outclassed” by the Seagulls Manager Roberto De Zerbi.

Ten Hag addresses defensive frailties

Manchester United have conceded a total of 10 goals in just five games since the start of the season. This depicts clear signs of issues with the team’s defense and their mentality.

“We have to improve, there are things for the team and the individuals, who have to step up. Sometimes, in those difficult periods, where we are now, you have to face that and you have to deal with that. In this moment, we don’t deal well with it but we showed that least year, the resilience and determination, also in defense, as you say.”

Ten Hag said during the post-match press conference.

Their new goalkeeper has made a total of 20 saves this season but has only managed to keep a single clean sheet once.

After signing Amrabat expectations were high but the team’s performance was miserable. Although the Morocco international is yet to feature for the Red Devils.

It is now certain that Ten Hag needs to bolster the team’s defense to save their current campaign. Next up for the 20-time English Champions is a trip to Germany as they get ready to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League at the Allianz Arena.

If everything remains the same, the “Stars of the South” will tear through Manchester United’s defense.
