Sheikh Jassim to seize control of the illustrious Manchester United

Takeover news: Man United and Sheikh Jassim

Sheikh Jassim is in the pursuit of clinching a transformative deal with the current Manchester United owners, the Glazer family.

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani remains a strong contender in the race to acquire ownership of Manchester United from the Glazer family, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.

However, it is important to note that this does not mean an immediate change in ownership is imminent for the club.

While Manchester United’s recent success under manager Erik Ten Hag has been noteworthy, the uncertainty surrounding future ownership lingers.

Sheikh Jassim will soon take over Manchester United

According to MailOnline, Speculation arose when Sheikh Jassim’s Nine Two Holdings recently became an official UK company, as reported by MailOnline.

Although this development is a typical step for potential bidders, ensuring all necessary preparations are in place if their offer is accepted, it does not indicate that Sheikh Jassim is on the verge of taking control of Old Trafford.

The paperwork for Nine Two Holdings was actually submitted to Companies House several months ago.

Negotiations for the potential sale of Manchester United are still ongoing with multiple parties, including billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe of Ineos.

The Sheikh Jassim-led Nine Two Foundation submitted its fifth and final takeover bid earlier this month, with a warning to the Glazer family that further negotiations would not be entertained beyond last Friday.

No Agreement Yet with Glazer Family as Nine Two Foundation Seeks Takeover

Respected journalist Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed that there is currently no agreement in place, and the Qataris are patiently waiting for progress.

According to Jacobs, the filing of paperwork by Nine Two Holdings as a UK company does not suggest an imminent takeover by Sheikh Jassim, as it predates his two most recent proposals.

Nonetheless, it is understood that the Nine Two Foundation is still actively seeking an agreement with the Glazer family.

Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT:

“I’m basically told that they filed the paperwork months ago, before their last two offers. As a consequence, it doesn’t mean a great deal.

You could say it shows that they’re serious and advancing, but it’s also an indication that the seller is lining up both groups to get to the point of signing. This shows, again, that a preferred bidder stage is not needed if all the logistical, financial and negotiation aspects of the deal are being done non-exclusively now. This is another example – you can’t complete the deal without incorporating a holding company. The fact that has now been incorporated is another thing done. Maybe that is part of the delay on the Qatar side, maybe they needed to wait for the date of incorporation to be official. Who knows?

But I’m told it doesn’t mean a great deal. It’s just sort of a clue that they’re very much in the race.”

The negotiations are expected to continue for several more months, as reported by The Times.

It is unlikely that a new owner will be in place before the start of the upcoming Premier League season in August.

While the Glazers are reportedly close to revealing the preferred bidder, the approval process for any deal could take up to 12 weeks.

In November, it was announced that the current Manchester United owners were exploring strategic alternatives, which could include stepping away from the club.
