Kai Havertz to be the first signing despite Declan Rice being the first priority
For Chelsea forward Kai Havertz, who may be the first player coming through the door, they seem to have little competition with Declan Rice. The final elements of the 24-year-old’s long-term contract to join Arsenal are now being worked out.
Declan Rice, the captain of West Ham United, is Arsenal’s top summer target.
The addition of the England international would enhance Arsenal’s midfield right away if Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka were to go.
However, Mikel Arteta is now stressed out since Manchester United are challenging Arsenal for Rice.

Rice still seems more eager to join the Gunners than any of Arsenal’s opponents to sign with them this summer. This might aid the Gunners in closing a deal if West Ham decides to accept more than one offer.
It is obvious how Rice would fit into a line-up for a more competitive Arsenal. It might not come down to him, as Arteta might lose out on his top target if West Ham receives a bigger offer from another club.
